  • foster a common understanding of the progress and challenges of each of the represented communities:
    • SDMX
    • Linked Data / Semantic Web
    • Publishers of statistical datasets
    • Users of statistical datasets
  • Develop a number of hypotheses regarding how best to exploit both SDMX and the semantic web

10.30    Welcome and introductions

  • Start the process of developing guidelines for publishers of aggregate statistical data
    • making best use of SDMX and RDF/ linked data
    • encouraging development of reusable tools based on the guidelines
    • accelerating the adoption of both SDMX and RDF/linked data
  • Share knowledge and experience between communities
  • Agree a set of principles for carrying the work forward
  • Agree a plan to continue the work and disseminate results

Presentation on SCOVO data model (SCOVO team) 20 minutes

             Discussion 20 minutes

  • Exchanging complete datasets
  • Visualising datasets
  • Navigating within datasets
  • Retrieving partial datasets
  • Operating across datasets
  • Manipulating datasets (e.g. tabulation, aggregation)

4 sessions, each taking one scenario, to develop solution options to deal with each activity listed above, taking the best approach available

17.30    Day 1 wrap-up
